We had salmon quesadillas for lunch. Joe, who is from Ireland, had no idea what a quesadilla was and after we explained it to him, he decided to get the All-Alaskan quesadilla (salmon and reindeer sausage). Joe said it was delicious. My salmon quesadilla was fantastic (even though I had to give the last bit to Chris).
We were SO full. After lunch we walked around the market then ventured on to downtown Anchorage. WOW. Anchorage was not what I was expecting. After visiting SEVERAL little tourist-y souvenir shops (and wanting to buy everything I saw), I found some postcards that were very pretty and that my family members would like. Mandy got a spicy hot reindeer hot dog. She said it was really good, too. I think I might want to try one of those before we leave. THEN we got lost. (: It took what felt like forever to find the right bus stop to be able to come back to the Anchorage House. Another 45 minute walk from the bus stop to the house, then a nice hot shower, dinner, and sleepy-time tea. ((: And now it's almost 8:30 here in Alaska and I'm so ready for a good night's sleep.
OH MY GOSH!!! I felt the need to pinch myself every now and again to remind myself that, yes, I really was here!! ((:
